The Court uses other alternate dispute resolution (ADR) techniques in civil actions. For example, private counsel (e.g. usually a retired Judge) may be hired as a settlement negotiator. The Court is also amenable to any reasonable use of an ADR method (e.g. summary jury trial). Parties must agree to either a binding or non-binding decision. The Court allows, upon request of counsel of record, for use of an ADR method in an effort to resolve a civil action pending as long as it will not interfere with the trial schedule.
