Postponements and Excuses

Requests for a postponement or excuse must be made in writing. You may use the "Remarks" section on the back of the qualification questionnaire or enclose a separate letter. Include a statement of facts relating to the hardship and the earliest date you can serve. Medical excuses require a statement from your doctor, with an explanation as to why you cannot serve. Students must provide a letter from their school registrar. Mail your request with your qualification questionnaire to:

One Way Streets

The streets surrounding the Flint Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse are primarily one-way streets. Before turning onto a street, please note the direction of traffic flow.

Parking

You may park in any of the surrounding public parking facilities. When appearing for jury service, you will be responsible for paying your parking fee. Parking rates vary depending on where you choose to park. You will be reimbursed $7.50 per day for parking. The parking reimbursement will be included in your check for attendance which will be mailed to you approximately two weeks after your attendance.

If you use the McCree Parking Ramp operated by Ellis Parking Co., the entrance is on Beach Street, between Second and Third Streets. Beach Street is one block east of Church Street and is a southbound one-way street. The McCree Parking Ramp accepts cash only.

Report to the Jury Assembly Room in the Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse located on Church Street between Second and Third Streets.
