Biography

The Honorable Patrick J. Duggan was appointed United States District Judge in October, 1986, and assumed the duties in January, 1987. He had previously served as a Judge for the Wayne County Circuit Court since 1977. Prior to his appointment to Circuit Court he was in the full time practice of law as a senior partner of a Livonia law firm. He completed his undergraduate degree at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated, Cum Laude, from the University of Detroit Law School in 1958.

He is a former President of the Livonia Bar Association and taught at Madonna University in the Paralegal Program. His civic activities include President of Michigan Jaycees (1967-1968); Chairman of Livonia Family YMCA (1970 and 1971); Board of Trustees, Madonna University (1970-1979).
