Federal Judicial Center
The Federal Judicial Center is the research and education agency of the federal judicial system. It was established by Congress in 1967 on the recommendation of the Judicial Conference of the United States. Its duties and responsibilities are established by statute. 28 U.S.C §§ 620-690. A portion of the site is devoted to the history of the federal judiciary. Included are biographies about all the judges who have ever served on a federal court, historical information about the various federal courts, landmark judicial legislation, selected topics in judicial history and a historic courthouse photograph exhibit.

An official site of the Library of Congress. Includes early congressional documents, the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, and the Constitution of the United States. Searches of the documents is allowed by word or phrase. Additionally, links to other historic documents such as the Thomas Jefferson Papers from the Manuscript Division at the Library of Congress are included.
